1000 Mindful Miles Challenge
Are you up for it?
A few weeks ago I was driving home from a slightly chaotic morning of bringing my girls to school and I had one of those "moments". Where this crazy idea just hit, right in between two sips of coffee, on a somewhat sunny morning. You see, I have been in seeking mode for a while now. Where I know that I want to create a shift, to challenge myself to something new, something that will push my limits, to achieve something BIG. I knew I wanted it to be healthy, adventurous, and transformational. Something that could create community and also must be a shit ton of fun! But what?
And in that surprising moment, it all came together. I knew and decided that I am going to challenge myself (and anyone else that wants to join) to achieving and completing 1000 Mindful Miles.
Now..what the heck is 1000 mindful miles? To me, mindful miles are getting into nature, unplugging, moving my body, typically sweating a lot, and letting my mind be free to wander. For me, there is nothing more healing or creativity inducing that those quiet and awe-finding moments that nature and movement (and sometimes stillness) always seem to deliver.
So here we are. 1000 Mindful Miles officially begins on January 1st and I will be sharing my journey here, on Heal Wildly. But even more importantly, I would LOVE for you to join me! You can walk, run, hike, or roll - anything that resonates with you. But the goal is to complete 1000 mindful miles in the timeline that you set for yourself. My goal is 1 year, but again this is mindful. It is a journey and experience that should be enjoyed. So time isn't as important as making it happen for you.
And here is another fun element...I am learning as I go. I am not an expert hiker, but I do often hike up small mountains and run down them. So, this will add to the experience. And if you are a beginner to mindful movement or hiking, I am learning too and I will share any tips I get and learn along the way.
If you are up for the 1000 Mindful Miles challenge, contact me and we will make this a community, possibly have events, and celebrate our achievements with support and encouragement.
Lots of love,
Julie
